I just had the WORST experience i think ive ever had in my life with someone on the phone. If i could do 0 stars, i would. Calling to renew my 80 year old grandfather's prescriptions before the new year and get their voicemail - which you can BARELY understand because the woman is talking so fast, mumbling and stuttering. I guess she states the machine doesn't take voicemail, wouldnt know ! Anyways, go to leave a message and some woman answers the phone (not the one from the voicemail) and states 'our machine doesnt take voicemails like the message says' .... i tried to respond with 'i can barely understand your voicemail to be honest' to which she cuts me off saying 'I dont even know what youre talking about, you can either fax me or I can write the information down' in a SUPER condescending tone .. I reply 'you dont need to be rude about it' and of course she says she isnt being rude to which I say 'you kind of are' and then I get the 'you know what beat it' with a hang up of the phone on me. Like excuse me ?! How do you think that kind of behavior is acceptable in a DOCTORS OFFICE of all things !? Next time just dont answer or simply and kindly just say 'hi! Sorry our machine doesnt take voicemails, were back at 2 pm please call back then !' and I would have said okay no problem thanks ! But to blame me for not understanding your voicemail and then tell me to beat it ???? Absolutely not. Trash reception experience and I will be talking to someone about it while also filing a formal complaint if thats how you think treating clients or family of clients is allowed.

Dr. Smardon misdiagnosed my tumour as a floating rib. Instead of doing a proper palpation, he became strangely angry when I questioned him. I then had an appointment with Telus Health, who booked me for an ultrasound right away. Sure enough, it’s a tumour. Your negligence is disgusting and exactly the reason the Canadian medical system is so poor. Please retire, you don’t deserve to have a practice. Thanks for nothing.

I just called this clinic to ask a few questions and possibly book an appointment. The lady who answered was extremely rude. I mentioned I wasn’t a new patient, and before I could even explain that I had different inquiries, she abruptly said they’re not accepting patients and hung up on me mid-sentence. It literally took her less than 10 seconds to end the call without giving me a chance to speak. If you’re working in healthcare or customer service, the least you can do is treat people with basic respect. Answering a general inquiry doesn’t take more than a couple of minutes. Very disappointed with this kind of behavior.

I was in the office today. Dominique greeted me with a smile and was kind and courteous as always! Dr. Smardon, was great. Came in , asked me my concerns, listened to me and we discussed the approprite treatment, had some small talk. It was great. I have been seeing this Dr. for about 10 years, and this has always been my experience.

My wife, (retired nurse) and I have been seeing Dr. Smardon for years going back before Covid and have found him to be very good. Anyone able to acquire his care should count themselves lucky.
