2 months agoI had an urgent OB dating ultrasound on Jan 10 due to bleeding during pregnancy. A week later, I called and the guy told the results had arrived but they hadn’t looked at my file because they had too many files!. On Jan 30, I ended up in the ER with a miscarriage, yet on Feb 4 I was still told to book an appointment just to get results. I signed up for a family doctor because I was pregnant, but if the clinic cannot handle care in a timely manner, they should not accept new patients. Even at my appointment, after seeing the doctor, I waited 1.5 hours just to get the ultrasound report printed, with only a 4 patients in the clinic. Very disappointing experience during an already difficult time.

a month agoAvoid this clinic if you can. I took my 6 year old here for a walk in appointment. We got to the clinic as it opened just before 10 am. When I signed up there were 3 people in the queue in front of us. We waited in the waiting room the entire time. 40 minutes later, I got a text telling me 1-2 people were ahead of me, which already seemed long but it was no big deal, I figured it was the beginning of the day. I then watched as the receptionist started letting people jump the queue. We waited for another complete hour while my little boy sat there with a fever and extremely sore throat. The receptionist apparently thought it better to let whoever she decided was more "important" go ahead. I understand that there is another doctor there that takes appointments. To be clear, this was the walk in doctor and walk-in patients she was letttig go ahead. When I asked what was going on, first both the receptionist and later pharmacist denied it. When I showed them my phone and the proof, the receptionist admitted it and made a bunch of excuses and lies. In all 8 people were seen before us. It was straight up discrimination and completely unprofessional. The staff here should be ashamed of themselves leaving children waiting longer so they can let whoever fits the right profile by with a little wink, wink nudge, nudge. It did not seem like the first time they had to adress this issue either. Their responses seemed pretty rehearsed. All in all, the entire ridiculous and insulting process took over two hours. I will not be back and I'll be sure to let everyone know that this clinic does not treat everyone equally. Gross behaviour, I wonder how many times this has happened to other people.

3 months agoExcellent! I went to the clinic on December 31st. The waiting time was about 40 minutes. The clinic was clean and the receptionist was very friendly. The doctor who saw me today was great, listened to my complaints and examined me. I bought the medication he prescribed at the pharmacy inside the clinic. The pharmacy is also good, fast, and explains how to take the medication carefully and clearly. This place also has family doctors and is accepting new patients! I highly recommend this clinic!

2 months agoI came into the clinic this morning to get medical assessments done for multiple children. I was very clear about what I needed, and who it was for. First there was a lot of confusion but then I was told I had to book an appointment for later in the day because some of the children needed to see a female doctor. I agreed and came back at the scheduled time. As we were being called in by one admin staff, the other admin staff tells us that the doctor refuses to see us because the assessments would take longer than the typical time they spend with a patient. The admin staff were very apologetic about it (so I'm giving them an extra star) but I am frustrated by this whole situation. The doctor knew we were told to come back for the assessments, and still would not honour it. These were children who required medical assessments within a specific period of time and we wasted an entire day without getting the medical care they required. The kicker is that I immediately called another walk-in clinic and they 1) told me they do medical assessments all the time and are comfortable filling out the required documentation 2) said it was fine for a male doctor to do the assessment for a female child 3) provided advice about payment without being prompted and 4) were shocked when I told them about what had happened at the Ottawa & River Walk-in Clinic. I am disappointed with our experience, especially since the good reviews were the reason why we chose to go to this clinic in the first place.

4 months agoThis is probably the most efficient clinic I have visited. The receptionists are awesome and have exceptional communication and organizational skills. I had a few appointments here and even though a couple of times they were overwhelmed with patients, the wait times were still impressive. The tablet helps for quick sign in. Other clinics should take notes.
