2 months agoDr.Nirveen Atalla is extremely disrespectful and refuses to help with medical forms to complete, refuses to make referral to specialists, just giving prescriptions for medication without knowing what exactly is going on as we need a clear diagnosis before we take medication, she only helps certain clients of hers in exchange of God knows what , I had her as a doctor for 10 years and I have seen at least 2 faces that she has . Unfortunately for her to be this way , she is disrespectful and disregarding , lack of compassion towards extreme situations and she is only picking who she helps . I had to change her cause she was giving me anxiety and I was leaving extremely distressed after I had an appointment with her , I will forward a complaint to the College of Physicians and Surgeons as soon as tomorrow. I needed to do that long time ago I have lost a lot of time and I was in pain , all kinds of pain , she doesn’t deserve to be a doctor she is not treating everyone equally and her personal bias are stopping her from being an efficient doctor to every patient . Her rating is -10 , not 1 . Shame on her . She should not practice .

5 months agoExtremely Disappointing and Unprofessional Experience - Avoid I am writing this review to detail an utterly disappointing and unprofessional experience with Dr. Corne van Rensburg. I would strongly advise anyone seeking medical care to look elsewhere. From the moment the appointment began, the doctor was impatient and exceptionally rude. I felt rushed and disregarded when attempting to explain my medical concerns. He was dismissive and made no effort to listen to the full scope of my problem, giving the clear impression that my concerns were not important to him. The entire consultation lasted approximately five minutes. When I attempted to ask clarifying questions about my diagnosis and next steps, Dr. van Rensburg stated that he could only answer one question. This is an absurd and unprofessional limitation, making it impossible to feel properly informed or cared for. This interaction lacked basic professional courtesy and empathy. The experience was extremely jarring, and I left feeling unheard, deeply upset, and without confidence in the diagnosis or advice given. A medical appointment should be a space of trust and thorough communication, neither of which was present here. I will never return to this doctor, and I highly recommend that prospective patients avoid him.

3 months agoAlthough waits are long, best strategy is to use this clinic only for walk-ins as it was originally intended. Becoming a patient of a particular doctor gradually reveals the walk- in mentality of doing the least as only required such as bloodwork requisitions, blood pressure readings, vital signs etc. Only the same are done (looking inside ears with a light included) for physicals. The culture is one of arrogance including with the personal assistants to the doctors( with a few exceptions). Amenities such as examination furniture are not accommodative for physically disabled clients resulting in certain tests being skipped. Particular physicians lack the professional capability to deal with very severe health challenges of a patient. Continued…. Following the above review, a personally addressed confidential note was delivered to the director who runs the clinic regarding my experiences. Unfortunately and/or predictably, the individual has not had the professional courtesy to contact me to address the issue or discuss my complaint.

7 months agoToday, I went as a walk-in for pain that has been bothering me for about 4 months. I haven’t been able to get an appointment with my specialist or my family doctor, so I wanted another opinion and some help with my issue. I have been a chronic migraine patient since the age of 12, but the pain I have been experiencing now feels different from my usual migraines. I was seen by Dr. Louis Fourie Smith who, instead of addressing my concerns, responded in a dismissive and unempathetic way. (It’s ironic how often they use phrases like “I hear you” or “I feel you” when their expressions clearly show they don’t care.) Rather than listening and providing guidance, he questioned why I was there early on a Saturday morning and why I hadn’t spoken with my family doctor or neurologist. His attitude made me feel as if my problem was not being taken seriously. When I mentioned that my pain might be muscular or tension-related, he replied with comments such as, “And why do you think it’s that?”—leaving me feeling invalidated and unsupported. He went on to say that there was nothing he could do, without even conducting an assessment or asking further questions. Instead, he judged and implied that it was a waste of time for me to see him. I left the consultation frustrated, in tears, and without answers because I did not feel understood or respected as a patient. EMPATHY, RESPECT and MANNERS are essential in medical care. As an immigrant and a nurse, I feel incredibly disappointed.
